This fortnight, join us as we pray about...

Forum

Forum, taking place from 6-10 September, is the flagship conference of UCCF.  Each September, we gather 1,000 CU leaders, staff, Relay workers, Student Council members, guests, and exhibitors to The Quinta in the lush green hills of Shropshire.  Our aim is ‘mobilising CU leaders for mission.’  After a summer of mission projects, travel, time with family, and earning a bit of money, we hope to renew the hearts and minds of the committee members and small group leaders – really anyone who is involved in leading their campus mission team.  Teaching in the main sessions will be from Vaughan Roberts (St Ebbe’s, Oxford), Graham Daniels (Christians in Sport), and UCCF staff Richard Cunningham, Jason Clarke, and Mike Reeves.  Other UCCF staff will take the morning Digging Deeper tracks and afternoon workshops.

With over half a million Freshers arriving on British campuses this autumn, we want Christian Unions to make the most of their opportunities to live and speak for Jesus.  We hope to equip and encourage the leaders of these CUs to plan and deliver the good works that the Lord has prepared for them.

“For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship.  And by him we cry, ‘Abba, Father’.” Romans 8:15

Praise God for…

  • the good relationship that UCCF have with The Quinta
  • able teachers, who can speak to a large student audience
  • our international connections through IFES, which challenge us to take the Good News to the nations
  • the powerful message of Romans 8 that Vaughan will use each evening
  • the creativity and artistry to be expressed by people on-site, especially Dan Curtis, artist-in-residence

“We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.” Romans 8:26

Please pray that…

  • our God would be worshipped in our attitudes and actions in the build-up, delivery, and wrap-up to Forum; remember the logistics team, who arrive a week before Forum starts
  • the sun would shine so we can enjoy meaningful conversations on the green, by the lake, or around the campfire
  • morning Digging Deeper tracks and afternoon workshops leaders would communicate clearly what is needed by their audience

“In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” Romans 8:37

Please pray after Forum…

  • that hearts would be changed by the word of God being taught faithfully and by followers of Jesus Christ sharing their lives and sharpening one another
  • that CU leaders would be inspired to make the most of Freshers’ Week and mission opportunities throughout the academic year and would discover more clearly what the Lord has planned for them after their degree
  • for rest and refreshment for all those involved in the preparation and build up to Forum and who worked tirelessly during the week to make the event run so smoothly
